Confession:

I've been listening to a ton of terrible hip-hop and rap lately when I study. My favourite music is never good, because it reminds me so much of other times, places, and people, and then I get distracted from my writing and reading and note-taking.

This recent interest in hip-hop and rap came from J, who would often, in jest, sing songs like 'Crank Dat (Soulja Boy)' and 'Ay Bay Bay' for laughs. Somehow, what started out as a joke turned into a serious musical obsession, and now I can't turn back.

I have a playlist entitled 'TRASH' which contains some of the worst that popular hip-hop has to offer. I will share it with you here:
Shakira - Hips Don't Lie
Rihanna - Umbrella
Kanye West - Stronger
Soulja Boy - Crank That Soulja Boy
Hurricane Chris - Ay Bay Bay
Madonna & Justin Timberlake - 4 Minutes to Save the World
Beyonce - Irreplaceable
Nelly - Ride Wit Me
The Notorious B.I.G. - Big Poppa
Kanye West - Jesus Walks
Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body
Down AKA Kilo - Lean Like a Cholo
Fergie - London Bridge

Now I know this isn't all properly hip hop. But it all started there.

I have to go now and write about George Orwell. I wonder if Kanye West might have anything intelligent to say in this regard.
