Going to Romania

I signed up today to go on a Real Break trip in 2009! I'll be skipping Missions Conference at Biola in order to spend a week with other OCFers in Romania. Our trip is going to be led by Veronica Pruim, the Programs Director for OCF who is originally from Romania. Here is what it says on the OCF website: "We will be staying in Brasov, a beautiful Transylvanian city located in the center of the country and surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains. We will be mainly involved with two sites: the school for blind children which was just founded by a local NGO and the children's hospital (therapy for abandoned children and orphans). In addition, we will visit the beautiful monastery of Sambata near Fagaras as well as the world famous Dracula's castle."

Sambata Monastery

Brasov...that's where I'll be.

Kids at an orphanage in Brasov, like the ones we'll be working with.

Dracula's Castle

Of course there will lots of good work to do besides going to Dracula's castle and awesome monasteries. It's going to be heartbreaking and beautiful. I'm really excited about it.

With love,
Erin
